I am also looking for LOM repositories for a different reason - as a Source
and/or Target for linking with an OpenURL Resolver JISC project (OLIVE:
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/index.cfm?name=project_olive).
I have been hunting for a week for such repositories and have only found the
RDN (http://www.rdn.ac.uk/) which does hold LOM records/objects but they are
just derived from Dublin Core metadata so sparsely populated - they do
validate though (i.e. the XML does). It is also OAI but don't know if it is
Open Source i.e. the architecture.
There is also I think the European Knowledge Pool System run by Erik Duval
but I know very little about this.
I am also in contact with Norm Friesen in Canada who is compiling a list of
LOM repositories. He's just started, (Norm Friesen

I would be interested to learn more about what Simos is doing because we
might be able to collaborate if only to share information as it emerges...
Thanks,
Howard Noble

Subject: LOM repository sought for interoperability testing
Hi there,
Apologies for cross posting. Can anyone help a colleague from Cyprus to
find an open source LOM repository in PhP & MySQL?
All the best
Lorna

Dear Lorna,
Greetings. I hope that you are well!
I am writing to ask you one question about LOM tools. I am looking for
an open source LCMS tool that has been written in PhP & MySQL and which
supports a LOM standard.
I am doing some interoperability tests with ILIAS at the moment and I
would like to replicate these tests with a similar system. However, we
cannot find another such system. Even an open source LOM repository in
PhP & MySQL could do our job.
I would appreciate it if you could help me.
All the best,
Simos
