Bob, payment is not appreaciation, it is buying. Erick From in the art of
love talks about how capitalism has made all of us a comodity. The same
system that says to us your produc/service is not valued because you are
disabled, would pay you some coins for your thoughts, will VALIDATE the
sytem. We are trying to change the system that forces us all be comparable
to a norm, a body, who is an abstract body, able, faithful with their
employers, and ready to sell him/herself to who pays more in the market
place. We are human beings, not commodities. If payment is given for your
research is a moral act to show apretiation to your interviewee. If not,
this can be done with a bunch of flowers, a poem, or some coins. I myself
would be happy with a smile and a truly thanks and would be insulted if I
was given a pund with one hand and a face of disgust .Money is not the
solution. It helps, but let s no allianate ourselves in believing that money
provides value. Andy Velarde
