The British Sociological Association Study Group on Risk and Society invites you to attend its conference on 'Risk in its Social Contexts'. This will be take place on 8th - 9th September at the University of Plymouth. We welcome proposals for papers addressed to the following themes:

* New Dangers: Emergent Risks

* Safety, Security and Surveillance

* The Emotional Dimensions of Risk

* The Mediation of Risk
31st May 2003 is the deadline for submitting paper proposals. Paper proposals (300-500 words) should include a title and complete information on the author(s) (name, institutional affiliation, title, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address). Please mention in which of the sessions listed above you wish to present your paper.
