Dear Colleagues,
I believe this is the centenary of the fondation of the
Rhodes Scholarships (1903) and no doubt much will be written and
published. But is there an account of Kipling's role as a
'commissioner'. I understand that he helped write what Rhodes wanted
said but that he resigned later from the Trustees in disagreement of
the appointment of a new Secretary (?).
This would make a valuable article perhaps for the Journal if someone
had the facts to hand (and was not already written!) or a lecture .
