In answer to Stephanie's question, the XML Schema representation of the 2002
PRO ERM metadata is on GovTalk at the moment.
To access it, go to http://www.govtalk.gov.uk/interoperability/xmlschema.asp
and select the 'draft schemas' link. Then select the bottom option on the
pull down list at the foot of the page.
To view the documents themselves, select the icons on this page on the right
hand side: the ones you get to by clicking the titles on the left hand side
do not appear to work.
(PS Govtalk seems to be having technical problems this morning - good luck!)
ERM metadata / e-GMS
By way of clarification of a couple of points that came up here last week,
the information currently being placed in the e-GMS about ERM is a straight
read-over from the work we consulted on last summer (i.e. the PRO 2002
metadata standard that accompanies the functional requirements). There is
no new content in e-GMS2 of relevance to the ERMS environment and indeed it
lacks the explanation and implementation information contained in the
Functional requirements / reference document that were published at the same
time as the ERM Metadata standard last year.
It has been agreed with the OeE that configuring ERMS to support the
metadata standard will be treated de facto as compliance with e-GMS so that
scenario only has to comply with the one document. The only mandatory
metadata required of the end user at record declaration is a title and the
location in the fileplan.

Subject: RM spec. UK: xml schema
Dear all,
I have got a question about the UK PRO Functional Requirements. Is the xml
schema in which the record metadata will be exported, already published?
