ARMA Standards Program Forms New Task Forces
Responding to needs expressed by members, ARMA Innternational’s Standards Development Committee is forming two new task forces to develop guidelines.
The first is Off-site Records Storage Customer Contracts and Service Agreements. Given the increase in the outsourcing of physical records and information storage to commercial service providers, members are looking for guidance regarding proper evaluation of potential storage providers and facilities. This publication will not attempt to draft contractual language, but will be a guide for the evaluation of facilities and negotiation of service agreement terms.
The second task force is ISO 15489 Promotion and Implementation. It will be involved in various activities to promote the ISO 15489 Records Management Standard. The work will focus initially on increasing awareness of this standard in the business community.
Members interested in participating in either of these projects can submit a task force member application, available on the ARMA Web site at www.arma.org/standards/task_force_app.cfm, or contact Diane Carlisle, CRM, at [log in to unmask]
