Re the school records retention schedule: Keith Batchelor, who helped
prepare the RMS local authority retention schedule, can offer a retention
schedule for schools at a very low price.

Subject: School Records- FOI
Dear Colleagues
I am in the process of finalising my timetable for FOI implementation. I
see from the Information Commissioner's timetable that schools will not be
required to send in their Publication Scheme until October- December 2004.
Does this mean that there will be some slippage in getting the schools to
comply with the access to all records on the 1st Jan 2005?
I also see that the RMS retention schedule does not include school records.
Has anyone come across any records retention guidance for school records,
such as Governor's Minutes.
Looking at the legislation, DFES requires signed minutes to be kept but does
not state how long they need to be retained for.
