Quantitative Trading Analyst – Hedge Fund
UK based quantitative arbitrage hedge fund seeks mathematically minded
economist. Typically this will include any Econometricians, Statisticians,
Mathematicians, Physicists, Engineers or Economists. Research/PhD students
or Staff specialising in Financial Econometrics are especially encouraged
to apply, as the profile of the role is a Financial Econometrician.
This start-up hedge fund currently needs the researcher to be involved in
developing, implementing and trading quantitative arbitrage strategies
across financial markets. You will have an exceptional academic background
with a PhD (though not necessary) or a good MSc with some appropriate
research experience, ideally involving coding up some newer and classical
econometric/statistical techniques. This will indicate that you are able to
do independent research, and implement suitable methodologies. Again
ideally though not essential you will have experience (either commercial or
academic) in the development of quantitative trading strategies. However,
you will have carried out much research into mathematical modelling
techniques and be thirsting to implement your theory with real financial
data.
This is an entrepreneurial environment and as such you will have the
opportunity to shape the development of the business for years to come.
This role would suit a creative and hardworking personality. The role
offers the opportunity to gain profound understanding of the microstructure
of the Financial Markets, and a generation of quantitative arbitrage
trading strategies. The present role includes checking all existing US
equity trading models, building many new models from ideas currently in the
pipeline, building up the research team and attending company board
meetings.
The right candidate will be appointed Head of Research and as such a
company Partner from inception. There will be a competitive basic salary
with a performance related bonus.
This can be a full or part-time position for the right candidate.
