Call for Papers:
********************************************
Special Issue of the
Soft Computing Journal
on dynamic optimization problems
********************************************
Deadline for submissions: 29 August 2003
********************************************
Objective & Scope
Many real-world optimization problems are changing non-deterministically
over time. In those cases, the purpose of the optimization algorithm changes
from finding an optimal solution to being able to continuously track the
optimum through time. Soft computing, and optimization algorithms inspired
by nature in particular, seem to be very well suited to that kind of
problem, since basically, nature is a continuously changing challenge.
The special issue of the Soft Computing journal will be devoted to
techniques from soft computing (evolutionary algorithms, ant algorithms,
simulated annealing, tabu search, swarm optimization, immune systems, neural
networks, etc.) dealing with dynamic optimization problems.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
* Comparisons of different approaches
* Anticipation
* Benchmark problems
* Real-world applications
* Theoretical results
* Hybrid approaches
