Dear All,
The annual congress of the Canadian Learned Societies of the Humanities and
Social Sciences is taking place May 28-June 4, at Dalhousie University,
Halifax, Nova Scotia. These are some events (that I know of) happening at
this year's congress that should interest anyone who does critical work on
disability.
1. The Canadian Philosophical Association (CPA) meeting at the congress will
take place May 30-June 2. Christine Koggel and I have organized the
following joint symposium of the Canadian Society for Women in Philosophy
(CSWIP) and the CPA:

3. The meeting of the Canadian Association of Law Teachers (CALT) and the
Canadian Law and Society Association (CLSA) happens May 31-June 4. Under
the auspices of this meeting, Critical Disability Theory sessions, organized
by Dianne Pothier (Dalhousie Law School) and Richard Devlin (Dalhousie Law
School), will take place from 9am-1pm on May 31-June 2, and June 4.
Presenters include: Carolyn Tyjewski, Catherine Frazee, Shelley Tremain,
Marcia Rioux, Jerome Bickenbach, Roxanne Mykitiuk, Fraser Valentine, Joan
Gilmore.
Registration fee rates for the congress vary according to student, wage, and
employment status. (Most societies at the congress require delegates to pay
society fees in addition to the general congress fee.) The deadline for
early-bird registration for the congress is *Monday, March 31*. On April 1,
