ESRC Project: Parents, Professionals and Disabled Babies: Identifying Enabling Care
Practices (RES-000-23-0129)
Applications are invited for two full-time Research Associate posts, one working with Dr Dan
Goodley at the University of Sheffield and one working with Dr Janice McLaughlin at the University
of Newcastle. This 3 year ESRC funded project will critically examine the processes and meanings
elicited in the provision of care for babies born with physical, sensory and ‘mental’ impairments as
they move from antenatal and post-natal care into longer-term primary and social care support.
Candidates should have a PhD and qualitative methods research training or research experience in a
relevant area of the social sciences (sociology, social policy and disability studies). Further details
