All Interested Geographers Attending the AAG.
Erin Sheehan has suggested that Geographers concerned about the impending
war on Iraq might like to take part in a "March 5, Moratorium to Stop the
War" (see her note below for more details). For those of us who can, I
think that this might be a great day for an informal meeting of concerned
people/protest/ "teach-in" (sorry if the term sounds old-fashioned!). I
shall follow this up by trying to find a space for us to meet on that day
Wednesday, March 5 and will post details on the Notice Boards near the AAG
Reception Area.
I will follow up Erin's suggestion of trying to make contact with local
anti-war organisers (tho' perhaps more local geographers might be able to
help here??).
I also note the suggestion that we could meet at the Antipode reception,
which is apparently scheduled for Thursday 6th March in the "Magazine B
Room" (wherever that is!) from 7pm. One advantage of that is that there is
to be FREE wine and cheese (best fuel for middle class protest!).
Hopefully we can pull something together!
Gotta go catch a plane now.

for those of us who have presentations to give on Wednesday (or I suppose
that could make it all the more attractive), but I thought I'd at least
suggest the Wednesday for any discussions or actions surrounding the
possibility of war.
