My version of the LOM (the Final Draft Standard -- I think that is the
latest available) gives datatype for 1.1.2 as CharacterString, not
LangString.
In older versions (eg v3.5 the version used for IMS metadata version 1.1)
the corresponding element 1.3.2 was String, but IMS changed it to
LangString. The IEEE LOM seems to have adopted this change and then dropped it.
