It's been fantastic to see this ListServ grow so quickly into such a
valuable resource. Well done to Stephen and James for getting things
started.
The Records Management Society annual conference is being held this year in
Leeds, April 6-8 2003.
During the course of the conference the Society AGM will be held. At AGM
the annual RMS award is presented to an individual or group in recognition
of key contribution to either the RMS or the RM profession in general. All
RMS members are eligible to nominate candidates for this award. If you are
an RMS member and would like to make a nomination, but have not received

The new Executive will also take office at the AGM. If you are interested
in standing for office of the Society and have not received the relevant
documentation, please contact our Admin Secretary at [log in to unmask] The
nomination form also includes a break down of each of the Exec. Committee
posts and the sort of commitment involved. Any of the current Exec. members
will be happy to answer any further questions and contact details for all
can be found on the Society website (address below).
The theme of the conference this year is 'The Records Management Toolbox'.
Keynote speakers are Prof J.Michael Pemberton (University of Tennessee) and
Richard Thomas (Information Commissioner, UK). The conference includes a
mixture of presentations and break-out discussion sessions on topics
including Privacy (including papers on FoI and data protection and a view on
public and private sector approaches); Business Continuity, ERM & metadata
and Lessons learned from ISO 15489.
