Dear List
Here are two alternative methods of altering your list settings when you go on leave, so that your out-of-office reply does not get sent to the list.
You can either do this via E-MAIL:
- address your e-mail to [log in to unmask]
- leave the subject line blank
- place the following text in the body of the message: set RECORDS-MANAGEMENT-UK nomail
OR you can do it via the WEB
- Register a Listserv password (if you haven't got one already) by going to http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/ and clicking on 'register password' at the foot of the page
- Go to the List home page http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/Records-Management-UK.html
- choose the option 'join or leave the list (or change settings)'
- choose to 'login with your listserv password'
- scroll down to 'miscellanous'
- check the box 'mail delivery disabled temporarily'
- scroll back up to click on the 'update' button
ON YOUR RETURN you can re-set your e-mail by either:
- sending an e-mail to [log in to unmask] with the following text in the body of the e-- mail: set RECORDS-MANAGEMENT-UK mail
- Going back to 'join or leave the list' page from the list home page and clearing the 'mail delivery disabled temporarily' box
Personally I think going via the web is the better option:
Once you've got your password you can use it to finetune your list settings, and a cookie from the list will remember your password for you.
If anyone has any difficulties then please contact myself or Stephen as listowners by e-mailing:
[log in to unmask]
Hope this helps
best wishes
James
