Dear Frank
Sorry for this delay with responding to your message of 8 Feb 2003 - I was
out of this country.
I think formulation of pertinent research questions is very important.
However I did rather mean a practical performance of research to answer
questions which are already put in the realm of PT. For example: what is the
MAIN mechanism of influence of ultrasound - thermal or oscillatory (or
thermal through oscillatory)? Or: which of the known PT agents is most
effective to relieve pain in the case of knee arthritis? Or: what is the
average share of the placebo effect in total clinical outcomes of usual PT
procedures? Etc. Such questions have already been put, and we need only a
support and qualified professionals (better - enthusiastic) to carry out a
series of appropriate research (properly designed, of course!) in various
teams of PT investigators worldwide.
I was simply addressing to the world PT community to consider creation of a
global PT research network to solve pertinent problems/tasks TODAY, not
tomorrow.
At the same time, I hope your efforts as to a new quality score list related
to a high-quality study will definitely be successful and accepted by the
World Confederation for PT as soon as possible.
All the best,
