I see Brian Read's comment, but I doubt I shall mail my comments. Do any of
the rest of you have experience of sending feedback to web suppliers? If so
you will realise that websites are compiled for the pride of the
organisation, and, more particularly, for the greater glory of the writer
of the site, who is proclaiming "Look at me, Mum, and see how clever I am."
The user comes way down the list. :-)
A website should be simple, not clever or complex - straight text and links
as far as possible, with as few embedded tricks as possible. Most site
compilers seem to get as many complexities as possible in, plus un-needed
large graphics, consuming our phone bills. Most users still cannot get
"Broad Band" access, and many use older browsers and software, but the
compilers assume a stae of the art setup (mine is, very nearly, but most
are not)
