Established as a Special Health Board on 1 April 2002, NES is
responsible for supporting education for staff in the NHS in Scotland,
through a multidisciplinary approach, in order to improve the quality of
patient care.
We are looking for an Information Manager to join an exciting new
project - the NHS e-library - a national initiative to provide a
comprehensive electronic information resource to all NHS staff.
The post is based at the NES offices at Central Quay in Glasgow and is
open to secondment. Jobshare applications may also be considered,
dependent on the range of skills and experience of the presenting
candidates.
Reporting to the Project Team Leader for the NHS Scotland e-library,
you will provide frontline, high level operational, administrative and
technical support for the expansion of the content, design and
functionality of the e-library. You will be responsible for the
application of cataloguing and indexing standards, the effective working
of editorial teams, data collection and needs analysis.
Educated to degree level, with a higher qualification in Information
Sciences, you should have at least three years' experience in health
information management, enhanced by research and project management
experience and first-hand involvement in website development. You will
have a sound understanding of electronic health information and learning
services, combined with strengths in Access databases, and application
of evaluation, indexing and cataloguing standards of electronic
information resources.
