Dear Colleagues
Although probably not the right place, nor the right person, given that i work down the corridor, i would just like to pay tribute to all of Adam's efforts over the last three years. He has worked incredibly tirelessly, putting in many lengthy hours of unpaid effort, entirely on the basis of goodwill to build up the Health Equity Network to what it is today, and he will be a very tough act for the new chair to follow.
I am sure that you will join with me in wishing him all the best and hope that he will continue to contribute to the network in some small way that he has done so much to establish in the last three years.
Best wishes

Hi
This is just a short note to say that I will be stepping down as Chair of the Health Equity Network as of April 9th. I've been involved in this role now for more than 3 years, and I'd like now to devote my energies to other things.
We originally established HEN (with a great deal of help from many eminent specialists in the field) to encourage greater inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral discussion with respect to health inequalities and health equity, and I think, to some small degree, we've achieved that. I've certainly learned a lot from many people who I probably would not even have met had it not been for HEN.
I'm not too certain if anybody would like to take on the role of Chair after I vacate it. I guess the main responsibilities are to co-ordinate with David McDaid regarding the HEN listserve and website, and to organise a few seminars/lectures. If anybody would like to take on the role, please contact me directly. If more than one person would like to do it, we could organise some kind of vote. If none, then HEN will at least continue to exist through the listserve.
Anyway, my kindest regards to you all.
Best wishes
Adam Oliver
