Opportunities at the Manchester
Centre for Healthcare Management
Central Manchester
---------------------------------
With an enviable reputation for innovation and excellence, the Manchester
Centre for Healthcare
Management is a leading provider of management education to the healthcare
and public sectors. Due to an increase in workload and subsequent expansion,
we are now looking for the following dynamic individuals to join us.
Senior Lecturer in Healthcare and Public Sector Management
£35,251 - £39,958
As a key member of our faculty, you will provide tuition to various
professional groups on healthcare and public sector management issues. In
addition, you will expand our research and development activities. Able to
gain credibility at the most senior levels of the NHS and other public
sector organisations, you'll also enjoy a high-level of flexibility, good
leadership skills and the ability to adopt a collaborative approach. A
strong publication record and the potential to generate income are both
equally essential. Ref: 04/03.
Lecturers in Healthcare and Public Sector Management (2 posts)
£26,270 - £33,679
Join us in these roles and you will teach a range of professional groups at
postgraduate level. To succeed, you will need the ability to work with
middle managers, senior managers and clinicians from both the public and
voluntary sectors. You will also have an understanding of the policy context
in the public sector, a good level of research awareness and an
evidence-based approach to practice. The ability to generate income is a
further pre-requisite.
One of the posts is focused upon organisational development and as such
demands knowledge of good practice in this area and experience of managing
change projects. The other position enjoys a more generalist focus. (Ref:
05/03)
Research Associate in Healthcare and Public Sector Management (3 year post)
£18,265 - £27,339
Supporting our growing research activity, you will work with senior academic
staff on existing projects covering topics such as workforce, research and
HR issues. You will also become involved in new research opportunities as
they arise. Naturally, you will need proven research expertise developed
through an earlier research appointment or similar work outside the formal
research environment. An understanding of the policy context in the public
sector and the potential to write for professional and refereed journals are
also a must. Ref: 06/03.
For all roles, you will need a relevant postgraduate degree and the ability
to achieve excellence in applied research and development. For more
information and an application pack, telephone Jane Crombleholme on 0161 275

number.
Closing date for receipt of applications: 10 March 2003.
As an equal opportunities employer, the University of Manchester welcomes
applications from suitably qualified people from all sections
of the community, regardless of race, religion, gender or disability.
