Adam,
I will also miss you on the health equity listserve.
I appreciated the inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral
discussion about health inequalities and health equity
and also your gracious notes & thoughtful follow-up.
I trust you will channel your many abilities into other
important work related to health equity and I hope not
to lose touch.
With many thanks and all best wishes to you,

Subject: HEN
Hi
This is just a short note to say that I will be stepping down as Chair
of the Health Equity Network as of April 9th. I've been involved in this
role now for more than 3 years, and I'd like now to devote my energies
to other things.
We originally established HEN (with a great deal of help from many
eminent specialists in the field) to encourage greater
inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral discussion with respect to health
inequalities and health equity, and I think, to some small degree, we've
achieved that. I've certainly learned a lot from many people who I
probably would not even have met had it not been for HEN.
I'm not too certain if anybody would like to take on the role of Chair
after I vacate it. I guess the main responsibilities are to co-ordinate
with David McDaid regarding the HEN listserve and website, and to
organise a few seminars/lectures. If anybody would like to take on the
role, please contact me directly. If more than one person would like to
do it, we could organise some kind of vote. If none, then HEN will at
least continue to exist through the listserve.
Anyway, my kindest regards to you all.
Best wishes
Adam Oliver
