Starting at 11.00 with coffee and finishing about 4pm.
A workshop/seminar on women, both professional and amateur, who took up
china painting in the heyday of the Victorian Art Pottery industry during
the 1870s.
We will be looking at the whole phenomena of china painting as an
occupation for women.
Included will be manuals and guides to china painting, many written by
women.
The Coleman family at Minton's Art Pottery Studio, Kensington Gore and
later.
Howell and James and the Royal Academy of China Painting.
Please bring any examples of china painting !
Sandwich lunch provided.
