wishing to present at the conference, including all meals and refreshments
but excluding overnight accommodation (and kindly subsidised by the
cult/hist group). Anyone wishing to attend the conference but not present a
paper will of course be very welcome to do so free of charge.

Emerging and New Research in Geographies of Health and Impairment (ENRGHI)
3rd - 4th April 2003, University of Cambridge
A two-day conference sponsored by the RGS/IBG Geography of Health Research
Group and the Cultural Historical Research Group of the Department of
Geography, University of Cambridge will be held at Jesus College Cambridge.
We welcome the submission of abstracts from postgraduates and all those in
the initial stages of their career conducting researching in medical and
health geographies. Papers are invited which address any aspect of the
wide-ranging fields of health and geography, from epidemiology and spatial
analysis through to social and cultural approaches, in either historical or
contemporary perspectives.
The conference will consist of four sessions over two days. The sessions
will be themed according to the research interests of the participants.
The aim of the conference is to provide a relaxed and supportive
environment for the presentation and discussion of participants' research,
and to facilitate networking between young researchers working in similar
fields across the UK. In the evening of Thursday 3rd April there will be a
guest lecture.
Registration will be at lunchtime on Thursday 3rd April and the conference
will end at lunchtime on Friday 4th April. The registration fee of £65
includes overnight accommodation, breakfast, tea and coffee, a buffet lunch
and dinner. The RGS/IBG Geography of Health Research Group will provide
six bursaries of £65 to individuals presenting at the conference.
Those interested in participating should send an email abstract of not more

Those interested in applying for bursaries are requested to submit their
abstract by Friday 21st February 2003.
