It seems to be just another trick to reduce waiting
time without actually dealing with problem of staff
shortage, in adequate physical space in emergency
department. I see in some university hospitals they
use to keep ambulance and patient for hours at the
door before book them in just to reduce waiting time.
if managers set a standard so let them get it their
own way.
at the other hand with (patient right of choice) NHS
patient charter, I don't see it going very long.
we should think of more practical approach to the
waiting time problem than just keep the patient
interest at bay in hope of meeting the standards set
by non-clinical decision maker.
