I had this from a Time Team researcher recently which might help understand what they are thinking about:
"I am currently on the trail of a suitable site for a 1-day investigation by Time Team this summer (June/July). I am ideally looking for a site which would benefit from investigation in the form of test-pits. I imagine that this might be a site where there has been field-walking within the last few years and that test pits could give more information about the site beyond surface finds. It might be a site with lots of involvement by a local society."
We haven't made any suggestions.

Rumours are beginning to circulate up here that Time Team are going to
launch their 'Test Pit Challenge' in mid-March, getting the public to open
up 1m square holes across the country. We've heard nothing from the
curatorial side beyond ALGAO discussing it last year. Has anyone got more
concrete information?
