Hello Jane, good luck with the DL course. From personal experience I can tell you that there will be times when you wonder why you started it! Be prepared to sometimes struggle to find time to fit in your day job, family and friends, studies and writing-up modules etc..it is very demanding, but worth it in the end. Be prepared to plan your time, and to compromise on your own expectations of yourself...if you have worked for any length of time, and are used to 'getting it right' most of the time, you may find it hard to accept that you cannot always achieve the 'perfect ten out of ten' and have to settle for a 'pass' mark...that doesn't come easy, especially if you are successful at your day job. Establish a good network of fellow masochists - sorry, I mean mature students! - because mutual counselling and discussion will help keep you all sane. It really does help, and the friendships you make will last the rest of your career, so take heart. Mike (Marsh)...MSc by DL in RM (UNN).

Hello
I work with the Records Manager (also a list member) at the University of
London, spending approximately half of my time on records management
duties. When not assisting the Records Manager, I work with the
University's Legal Adviser. I'm planning to start a distance-learning
course in Records Management this September.
Regards
Jane
