I am a new user of Atlas-Ti working on a federally funded project producing
large volumes of clinical observational data and moderate amounts of
interview (clinicians, patients, and family) data. Additionally we have
memos and eventually will have diagrams to consider. We have worked out a
coding scheme for the family interviews--but as we tackle the idea of
coding within one project for the multiple types of data, I'm feeling a bit
at a loss.
I would appreciate advice from those who have dealt with projects producing
both interview and observational data. One question is ---Whether to set
up codes that apply across all cases and to all types of data, or to
clearly signify the source of the code by perhaps using a prefix
designating source ? The observational data of medical and nursing care in
an ICU environment is voluminous; if anyone has coded similar clinical
observations and is willing to share some examples, I would be grateful.
