Well done Jim.
I chose an apparently difficult question ... but Todmorden is my home
town and I used to watch Peter Lever play on a Saturday. Never saw John
Kettley play there but he was in the year above me at our Junior School
and some infinitely more superior cricketers to Kettley graced the
Centre Vale ground! Sir Garfield Sobers was the pro at the next club
along the valley, Walsden, although they played in a separate league to
Todmorden.
Todmorden is also famous for having spawned TWO Nobel Prize winners:
Cockcroft (Physics) and Wilkinson (Chemistry). Not bad for such a small
town.
John Fielden, 19th Century philanthropist, MP for Oldham and mill owner
had the largest factory in the world there at one time (only demolished
fairly recently to make way for a supermarket!)
I could go on but etiquette says that I've said for too much already!

Not this old sporting trivia chestnut?
Peter Lever played for a Yorkshire-based Team that plays in the
Lancashire League. Todmorden.
Incidentally, the same cricket club that used to have weatherman John
Kettley playing for them.

Tut, tut, Tim.
OK, I promise not to do this again, Richard!
Which Lancashire League team did former England cricketer Peter Lever
used to play for.
Sorry no question mark on this keyboard and the z is a z and vice versa.
