MIMAS is pleased to announce a series of CrossFire training
courses. The courses will cover the new features of MDL
Commander Version 6, the latest release of the CrossFire search
software, as well as basic and advanced aspects of searching the
Beilstein and Gmelin databases.
Introduction to CrossFire:
Mon. 3rd March, 10.30-13.00, Manchester
Wed. 5th March, 10.30-13.00, London
Advanced CrossFire:
Mon. 3rd March, 14.00-16.30, Manchester
Wed. 5th March, 14.00-16.30, London
The Introductory course covers the database content, keyword
searching, searching for compounds with specific properties, basic
structure searching, displaying and navigating through results.
There will be live demonstrations to show the power of the system
and a hands-on session. The course is suitable for people who
have never used CrossFire, both chemists and non-chemists.
Advanced CrossFire is aimed specifically at chemists and related
scientists, covers many of the more complex features such as
reaction searching, use of generic groups and stereochemistry.
This course is intended for people who have some experience of
CrossFire and want to learn more, or who have attended the
introductory course. As with the introductory course, there will be
demonstrations and a hands-on session.
All courses are free of charge to staff and students at UK and Irish
universities and research councils.
