I received the following request for information. The enquiry asks if there
are any EU standards/policies for information workers. I'm not aware of any
standards/policies specifically relating to information workers, but before
I blithely assume this to be the case, does anyone out there know any
different? Most of the information seems to be quite general (for example,
the recognition of professional qualifications, at:
http://europa.eu.int/comm/education/rec_qual_en.html).
Many thanks

Subject: Skills for today's information workers - EU standards
I am compiling a dossier of standards and policies on qualifications and
skills for information workers in the UK. My purpose is to obtain an
overview of what skills are deemed
necessary for modern information work in the UK today, backed by examples
of particular standards and policies. I'm also intersted in self-assesment
tools which staff can use to measure their skills against organisational or
sector standards.
I'd like to include in my dossier any EU standards which
exist. Can you advise on what EU documents / policies there are, or to
whom I should address my request for this information?
Many thanks for your help.
