Bill, I apologise for my expletives and 'capitals'! Maybe I was out of
order; but times are difficult all over the country.
Working in West Yorks has similar problems too. We have a dire shortage of
GP's.. We have poverty. We have a drugs problem. We have a significant level
of mental health needs. We have a large number of patients, whose first
language isn't English. And we provide a significant amount of primary care
out of hours to these patients. I can't imagine that it's so different from
London based A&E depts.
What I did say was that some of these 'Primary care' problems are the most
demanding. They are the more complex human issues. I accept that A&E isn't
the ideal location to sort out these peoples problems, but they will
continue to seek this help from us.
Regards
Adrian K
