Dear WIGS members,
I'd like to introduce myself as your new Part Time Work Representative. I
will be keeping my eye open for sites and sources of part time teaching and
other German-related work, and I will send you anything I think you may not
have seen elsewhere (e.g. the German Studies Mailing List). I would also
like to hear about anyone's experiences in part time work with regard to
contracts and your rights, so please do get in touch with me if you think
you have any tips you would like to pass on to our members.
Here are a few things I've managed to sniff out:
PART TIME ADMINISTRATOR
The London Branch of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is looking
for a part time administrator to start work this Autumn for 20 hours per week.
They are looking for a native English speaker who has graduated from a
British university with a good degree in any discipline, preferably having
spent some time at a German university. They want someone with an excellent
command of German in both oral and written skills. The applicant will have
a minimum of one year's office experience and have very competent
communication skills.
A knowledge of book-keeping would be welcome. Other duties will include
administering various scholarship programmes as well as advising on study
in Germany and the UK. The applicant must be computer literate (EXCEL,
Microsoft Word 2002, Access) and have good typing skills.
