We have had for a few years now a central database which is maintained by
our student recruitment folk, which contains an entry for each course we
offer. This database is hosted and managed on a day-to-day basis via our
website and is used to dynamically generate our online prospectus
(http://www.ulster.ac.uk/prospectus/). The entry for each course can be
quite detailed or simply run to a few paragraphs. When it comes around to
print time we run a report which generates a word document which our editor
then edits down to leave only the important information. We also clearly
label on our printed prospectuses the website and note that it contains more
detailed and up-to-date information.
This has taken a fair bit of work to get the processes working, but
particularly this year has really helped reduce the time required to produce
the suite of printed prospectus and is well worth the effort in looking at.
Cheers,
Gareth
