I use Yahoo groups which I find excellent. If you use Norton Personal Firewall 2003, you can set it to stop pop up ads!

You can get rid of all adverts on EZboard if you pay a small fee (about ?100
per year)They do also try to tailor adds to the declared use of the forum. I
have used it on an education site and never experienced porn ads. However,
jome might say that the ads for online gambling are just as bad. As far as
copywright goes, anyone who posts to an unrestricted web site is I believe
putting their work in the public domain and therefore giving up claims to
copywright.

Hi
Does anyone have any guidance/policy on use on "community sites" in the
FE sector. I am referring to use of sites such as Yahoo Groups, MSN
Communities, ezboard, myclass.net etc... by teaching staff with
students.
My areas for concern are implications on the use of these in relation to
the Data Protection Act, Copyright Act and possibly the Child Protection
Act (porn advertising in particular with reference to ezboard).
