If you search the JISC site using VLE - there are range of briefing papers.
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/
There are also some sites I collected together at
http://www.mk.dmu.ac.uk/~pwaterhouse/ilt/sites.htm
Hope this helps.

Subject: Types and users of VLEs
Greetings,
I am new to the VLE "thing" and was wonderining if anybody knows of a good
site that lists the major commercial players in the VLE business.
(Blackboard, WebCT etc etc) Also if it has a comparrison of their features
that would be really good.
Secondly is there a site somewhere in cyberspace where I could find a list
of school and colleges in the UK that use VLEs for their courses so that I
could perhaps contact some of them about their experience.
Thank you for your help.
