A fine line that has been crossed by Connected Learning, in my view. I
get enough junk email as it is. Lets try to keep the lists for their
intended purpose.

There are rules, you're not wrong. My original email to suppliers said:
"However, if you join, I would ask that your contributions are about
VLEs generally, rather than promoting your specific product. This is a
fine line, clearly, but saying "My product X is better than his product
Y because...." is not OK. However, saying "We are doing an informational
tour next month about X, for more details go to our web site" is OK. If
in doubt, check with me first."
As I said then, it's a fine line. To the credit of the numerous
suppliers on the list, it has rarely been crossed.
