Hiya,
I've only recently started using a mouse pad with a wrist support at home and find this does help - I must get one for work too. I also use a keyboard wrist support, but if you do use one, you should put the legs on the back of the keyboard down so that the keyboard is flat to the table. With the legs down, I find my keyboard support invaluable and can't imagine using a computer now without one. I've also got small hands, so I like to use as small a mouse as possible which curves into my hand.
I'd second the suggestion of using a foot rest. Do you have an occupational health service/officer or equivalent where you work? If so, if might be worth calling them in to check the ergonomics of your working area and recommend equipment for you. My GP also gave me some good workspace suggestions when I went with a trapped nerve including the foot rest idea, making sure that your legs form an angle greater than 90 degrees, and raising your monitor to eye height when sitting straight in your chair.
Good luck,
Kelly
