Subject: Invitation to The Derby way to....
This invitation is for both HE and FE colleagues and any one else
interested.
Apologies for the lateness of this invitation but if you are at all
interested in this day then please contact me as soon as possible letting
me know if you have any special dietary or mobility requirements. Could you
also say which part of the day you would like to attend.
Due to the many requests from people to find out more about how we deal
with e-course packs at Derby we have decided to hold this day.
For those of you who are not familiar with HERON or would like to know
more, then there is an early bird session that you might like to attend .
EnCoRe & Heron: the Derby way to creating electronic course packs.
Tuesday January 21st, Arkwright Room, University of Derby, Kedleston Road,
Derby DE22 1GB.
The electronic services team, part of the Library and learning Resources,
at the University of Derby will be hosting an informal workshop in response
to requests to find out more about the way in which we deliver course texts
electronically.
It is also an opportunity for people, especially colleagues from the FE
sector, who wish to know more about the Heron service to come along for the
early bird session which will be led by Ewan McCubbin, Heron Liaison
Officer.
Part of the electronic services team is the electronic copyright and
digitisation unit (EİDU) who are responsible for the digitised course
packs, and the electronic exam papers. The team works closely with HERON.
Other members of the electronic services team are involved in the
University MLE project. Part of this is the JISC funded project, EnCoRe,
part of the DiVLE program. Two departments are involved in EnCoRe. The
Centre for Educational Development and Media (CEDM) is the partner in this
with the Library and Learning Resources. CEDM is responsible for the
development of the university VLE, DEPOT.
One of the deliverables from Project EnCoRe will be a toolkit, being
developed by CEDM which will include a 'create my course pack' tool for the
academic. EİDU is working with HERON to develop a web form which will
enable the academic to apply for copyright permission directly from the VLE
course template.
Programme
