Apologies to anyone who recieved this message previously via LIS-INFOSKILLS.
I am a postgraduate student studying Information Management at Sheffield
University.
For my dissertation I am investigating the potential of Virtual Learning
Environments for the teaching or support of Information Literacy in Higher
Education Institutions in the UK.
I have signed up to this list in order to find people working in the
Libraries or Learning Resource Centres of Higher Education Institutions that
have an involvement with VLEs, Information Literacy or both.
The first part of my dissertation research will take the form of a survey
questionnaire sent to the library or leaning centres of every HE
institution in the UK. This will try to provide an overview of the use of
VLEs in Universities/Colleges generally, and then in relation to the
support of Information Literacy.
If anyone would be willing to fill in the questionnaire on behalf of the HE
institution at which they work it would be great to hear from you (this
will be sent out in late April).
If anyone has opinions/ideas about this topic of research or would like to
see my dissertation proposal that input would also be gratefully accepted.
You can email me directly at [log in to unmask] if you wish.
Thank you for your time,
Hannah Hough
