Hello all.
We at Netskills are looking at extending our successful Professional
Development Certification (PDC) scheme into the area of e-learning and
teaching and we would like some feedback on whether what we propose would
find a resonance with the market before we go ahead and develop it.
For those of you who are not aware of the Netskills PDC scheme it is
validated by BTEC and sits at level 4 of the National Qualifications
Framework, details can be found at:
http://www.netskills.ac.uk/accreditation/
The proposed new e-learning and teaching Professional Development
Certificate (again validated by BTEC) would revolve around our successful
e-learning programme of workshops together with an agreed personal work
based project undertaken by each candidate which would form the assessed
component.
At present we envisage candidates would attend both the
Effective e-Learning with VLEs workshop, details at:
http://www.netskills.ac.uk/workshops/descriptions/vle.html
and
Effective Course Development for VLEs workshop, details at:
http://www.netskills.ac.uk/workshops/event/ncl-may03-vle2-r1/index.html
together with at least two others of their choice which would be relevant to
the development of their chosen project.
Following their workshop programme candidates would be expected to deliver
their agreed project within a given timescale for assessment.
The proposed PDC would be open to FE/HE and commercial candidates.
Have any of you any comments; how viable do any of you think it would be?
We would be interested in any thoughts anyone might have and would like to
share with us.
