Salary up to 33K per annum plus performance related bonus

With over 3,000 further education, undergraduate and postgraduate
students, The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College is one
of Europes largest specialist centres for higher education in art, design,
media and communications.

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to continue
the development of the Visual Arts Data Service (VADS).

VADS is part of the Arts & Humanities Data Service funded by JISC and the
Arts and Humanities Research Board. The VADS manager leads a team of 7
staff in the provision of a service that collects, preserves and promotes
digital resources for use by the visual arts community for teaching,
learning and research.

You will hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in a Visual Arts
discipline and will demonstrate knowledge of best practice in the
creation, delivery and management of digital resources, including images.
With at least 3 years work experience in an academic or museum
environment, you will be capable of dealing confidently with policy makers
at a senior level. You will possess the negotiation skills to acquire
significant collections, the communication skills to promote these to the
Higher Education community and the management skills to lead and motivate
a small staff team.
