Dear Colleague
I wonder if Gordon Brown new that his increases in NIC would lead to local
people losing their buses?
From the Surrey County Council press release re bus cuts: "Surrey County
Council's Executive Member for Transport Helyn Clack said: "No-one likes
reducing services and we really regret having to withdraw these bus
contracts but the Council simply has no other option. The burdens of rising
fuel costs, spiralling insurance premiums and increased national insurance
contributions mean bus operators often have little option but to ask the
County Council for more money to subsidise their services".
Of course, Land Value Tax would avoid these disbenefits. (Happy to send you
more details).
Is this something that MPs could raise in The House?
