LIGHT RAIL IN THE U.K.: FROM ORIGINS TO TODAY.

The Locomotive & Carriage Institution is organizing a Saturday meeting on
March 20th 2004. It will take place in the District Room (Room 727) in
London Underground Limited Headquarters, 55 Broadway which is built directly
over St. James Park Underground Station.
The meeting is intended to explore the development and present situation of
light rail in Great Britain, and review future prospects for this mode of
transport. Papers dealing with research matters and the economics of light
rail are also required . The meeting is being organized by N. Agnew,
President of the Locomotive & Carriage Institution,

The meeting will begin at 10.00 and close at circa 17.30, with breaks for
buffet lunch and afternoon refreshments. A Registration Fee will be charged
to cover lunch and refreshments.
