Well, it has the opening quote from Hopkins, and I do feel it's a very
well-known poem -though having said that, I'm sure there are thousands of
well-known poems that I've never read.
I'm not sure about including a footnnote re the derivation of Margaret from
'pearl'. Someone commented that it would be a mistake to narrow the title
down more, as the whole point of the poem is that it's not just about
Margarets, but about everyone, whatever our names.
But it's true that this poem has always seemed to speak directly to me
because of the name included, although it could have been addressed to
Helena, or Christina, or whoever...
