Hi Paul,
It might just be me then... because I can remember reading about the links
that were made between the Ubermensch and the nazi "Super Race" too. It's
just that I was thinking, in the way the two lines (about Nietsche &
Achillies) appear in the poem I don't find it easy to know if I'm being told
something about the picture, the painter, or some additional fact that
relates in another way altogether. I sort of felt I could be reading an
interjection.
