Harumph. Writers who can be wounded into silence probably ought to be
silent. The trick is to be wounded into art.

Marcus, no insult meant but you must be one of those compassionate
conservatives I hear so much about but never have seen.

I give you the long list of reasons people have kept silent

Physical abuse
Verbal abuse
Teachers who could not teach
parents/husbands/friends who discouraged
in an environment where reading is looked upon as odd or pansy or worse
no time, their priority to money and work until the blinders off
"I was a bad English student.'
simpley the fear of failing
low esteem

There have been a great number of the wounded who became super writers, and
the world would be worse for the lack of their words. Mary who posts here is
one, there are others at this forum and indeed throughout the web.

I will not assume you think someone who has been abused deserved it, but I
find your attitude disturbing and even a bit sickening.

Peace.

Gary
