Subject: new: bobbie makes a discovery

(thanks to Frank for letting me enter his world)

bobbie makes a discovery

bobbie lines his flat
in aluminum foil
stripped from candy and gum wrappers
collected from gutters,
dumpsters
and footpath trashbins

I LIKE THE SOUND OF THIS A LOT. I MEAN THE WORD SOUNDS RATHER THAN BOBBIE'S
ACTIVITIES.

not to keep out alien transmissions
beamed from mars
on purple rays
but to stop the didgeridoo static
transmitted by uncoordinated traffic lights
and don't walk signs

AMAZING THE WAY YOU HAVE TRUMPED THE USUAL "BANAL" EXAMPLES OF DELUSIONS
WITH SOME VERY OFFBEAT MATERIAL OF YOUR OWN.

in the rare dry spell
when bobbie can't cage a tipple
or the price
the growling plays between bobbie's ears
till all he can see
is he was once a warrior
and the English need to die

I THINK YOU ARE TAKING A SWIPE AT THOUGHT DISORDER, AND A GOOD ONE AT THAT,
BUT IMO SO MUCH POETRY AVAILABLE NOWADAYS IS LIKE THOUGHT DISORDER THAT THIS
DOESN'T STAND OUT ON ITS OWN. FORTUNATELY THE CONTEXT PROVIDED BY THE REST
OF THE POEM CLARIFIES THAT IS A PROTAGONIST WITH A "PROBLEM", RATHER THAN A
POET EXERCISING THEIR RIGHT TO LOSSEN THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN PHRASES.

in his normal buzz
from hooch or hash
the music ends
and the pictures fade into background
like celluloid left in the sun

not today

today the wrong flick plays
an endless loop
until
his memories clears

and among the warriors

stands
blackie and the black sheila

and bobbie at sixteen

A FINE DEPICTION OF A STATE OF MIND

IF MY MAIL BOUNCES, MAIL [log in to unmask] AS AN ALTERNATIVE.....The homepage
on hold until ???--- Writer's Hood at http://www.writershood.com/.....Check
out the Auden contest. Poets for Peace.... ˇPoemas sí, balas no!
