When thinking about the difference between prose and poetry, I've often
thought that the movement of prose is towards narrowing down, while that of
poetry is towards opening out. Very simplistic, I know, and there will
always be exceptions.
Kind regards,

Poetry is discovery, and part of discovery is exploration and
experimentation - striking out on one's own to see what is over the hill, or
perhaps what you've been told is really over the hill. And then finding
another hill, and another and another and - .
Smiles.
