Hi John,
I know this has haiku like qualities (but I'm not fully into eastern poetry
- I ain't got the head or the heart for it, I guess)
...but I also find it appears like those wise old country sayings that seem
to float up from the past now and again (that I can't always make much sense
of). Do you know what i mean? The sort of "many a mickle makes a muckle..."
or "red sky in the morning..." kind of statements. Your piece seems to have
that kind of imperative quality to it, too. It seems like wisdom more than
it seems like a surprise...
