Banners unfurl
wisps of gauze dyed primaries -
blue..red..yellow..green -
each layer lain to absorb the light
a covering unlighted
unbleached
untied
white...black
...black...white
fades to gray
When I think everything
is sixes and fours,
I am twoed
and leave the game incomplete

the cry to saddle up one upped
A scent of lilacs and cinnamon
mingles in the foyer
green with dawn and dusk
I chug around the mountain
a little engine
wrapped in rust
the whip of linen banners
